Counselling Service

The Counselling Service aim to provide support for older adults who are experiencing emotional difficulties, such as

  • Adjusting to retirement
  • Loneliness, anxiety or stress
  • Inability to cope
  • Painful family relationships
  • Depression or grief
  • Despair or suicidal thoughts
  • worried hands two men
    The service gives older people the opportunity to talk, in confidence, about what is troubling them and to explore their feelings with a trained counsellor

    ‘Directions’ has been produced by the Cardiff and Vale Mental Health Development Project

    Directions includes statutory, voluntary and independent organisation’s information and is intended for use by Carers, Service Users and anyone interested in Older People’s Mental Health Services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Included are directories of services and information for carers of those with a dementia and those who care for an older person with another condition such as depression.
