New Let's Get Out Project launched

A new project has been launched by Age Concern Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The Let's Get Out Project will run for four years during which time it aims to assist 200 of the most isolated people in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to build their confidence and meet new friends.

The project will work with individuals 50+ using a person centred approach to identify their goals and aspirations and to assist in resolving any barriers they have to achieving them. The aim is to increase their confidence and skills to participate in activities with up to 6 months support helping them to gain the confidence to build their social networks

Volunteers will be working with individuals using a person centred approach. This could be through escorting them or providing transport to activities and clubs, through to support to undertake daily activities such as walking to the shop, visiting the community café or taking public transport to visit a friend living further away.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to assist with this project. Volunteers are the cornerstone of our work and as with other projects we will not be able to deliver this project without your support.

We are looking for volunteers across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, including Penarth and Dinas Powys.
